This was beautiful, and made me cry. I lost my mother a few years ago, when I was 32 and she was 55. It was an unexpected outcome, and the worst phone call I'd ever received in my life. I miss her, and I wish she was still here to see her granddaughter grow up.

Such beautiful writing about your dear mom, you describe her so vividly and with such love. I understand that deep sadness you held whilst getting on with everyday life, as the paper towels dwindled.. so poignant.

Btw, Ginger was my name too when I was younger as I was born a redhead.

Thank you for writing that. This is why Im here on Substack. We are healing each other by listening to each other thats for sure. We are of the age were the older generation are falling off.

At least we can be here for each other.
